Encourage early numeracy skills and practise counting with the Snails and Spots game. The snails each feature numbers one to ten, and each one has the same amount of holes in its shell. Choose the matching colour dough and make the same number of balls to fill the snails' shells up. Playing with the dough also boosts fine motor skills, while playing with friends is great for boosting social and communication skills.
How to play:
Squish, squash and roll
Let's squish and roll the dough in our fingers and make little dough balls. We can put the balls onto the snail shells and count them up.
Count and match
Let's match the coloured balls with the numbers on the snail shells. We can count the balls together, and cheer when all the shell slots are filled.
Lay the cards out and ask your child to group the cards by colour.
Count items around the house with younger children. How many chairs can they see around the table? How many cups on the table?
