- Great for developing problem solving skills
- Learn about animals and their actions
The ELC Squawk Talk is an action packed game which will teach your child about the noises and actions different animals make.
There are three ways to play this game; the first one is called Squawk Talk Scramble. In this game, all the cards are placed face down on a table and the cards get turned over one by one. The first player to make the sound or action of the animal named on the card wins that card. The winner is the first player to collect five cards.
The second way to play the game is called Squawk Talk Action Stations and is suitable for three or more players. Each player is dealt seven cards and they should be placed in a pile face down in front of them, they must not look at the cards or show them to any other player, then place the unused cards in a central pile. The youngest player goes first and looks at their top card, then they make the noise or perform the action shown. The first of the other players to name the animal wins the card, however, if nobody can guess the animal, the card is exchanged for one on the unused pile and then the new sound or action has to be performed.
The third game is called Squawk Talk Together and has been designed for younger children who unable to read. It is super easy to play, an adult must hold a card up and talk about the animal, then ask what the children think the animal would say or do. Then all of the players can make the noises or perform the actions together as a co-operative game.
