I had the same problem as the other reviewers as it wasn't clear that you're supposed to attach the random other plastic ducks it comes with to the back of the main one, but once you do, it then floats!
My main gripe with it is that it doesn't do very much! The singing's ok, but as with most VTech toys you can't really understand some of the words, and I did think that it might swim itself or do something a bit more interesting than just bobbing about, but no.
Having said that, it's fine. My 1 year old is more interested in pressing the button to make it sing than whether it swims or not, so from her point of view it's good!

Was given this product as a present as my 1 year old loves ducks. However, as with previous reviews, it is supposed to be for use in the bath however it falls flat on it's face soon as it goes in and you can't hear any music! I can't get i to balance for the life of me. So i'm using it as a toy out of the bath but seems a shame! Do not buy this product if you are planning on using it as a bath toy! Shame as all other products I have had from elc have been great, staff are always nice, good value for money etc so was surprised by this!

the duck is ment to float but as soon as you put it in the water it falls on its face then sinks, not a good toy at all.

Our daughter loves playing in the bath but this duck isn't suitible for water at all. If you put it in the water it tips over straight away and goes under the water. Bit of a pointless 'water toy' - it's fine out of the water but thats not what we bought it for :(

The VTech Splash and Learn Duck is a bath toy that is fun to play with but only out of the water!! Even though out of the water the duck sings and talks, as soon as you put it in the water it floats for about 3 seconds and then tips over and sinks!
