product information

The Smart Trike Vanilla 4-in-1 is a fun trike that grows with your child, converting from a secure baby tricycle to an independent trike.

Quick facts:

-Includes exclusive Touch Steering
-Double injection wheels for comfort
-Comes with a coordinating printed protective canopy and material bag
-Made with a steel frame
-Converts from a secure baby trike into an independent tricycle
-Easy switch from parent Touch Steering to allowing your child to be in control
-Manoeuvres like your stroller
-A 4-in-1 trike which is suitable from 10 months

Great for your child's development:

Riding a trike is a brilliant way to strengthen little legs and practise balancing skills for a bike later on in life. The 4-in-1 Vanilla Smart Trike takes your little one from ride along stage to beyond, as it transforms from a parent-steered ride along to a classic pedal trike that your child can use all by themselves. As your little one gets pedalling and steering, it's also a great way to get some exercise.

ELC star quality:

The Vanilla manoeuvres like a stroller for a smooth drive, with the lightest touch you can push the trike in the direction you wish to go. When your little one is ready to be in control, the navigator button on the mudguard lets you to easily switch from parent Touch Steering™ to allowing them free reign around the park or garden.

What you need to know:

Stage 1: At 10 months your baby can safely use the foot rest and high-back support.
Stage 2: At 18 months the seat converts while parents can still push and control the trike. Your baby can enjoy the ride while developing confidence, balance & motor skills.
Stage 3: At 24 months it becomes a training trike, where your little one learns to pedal.
Stage 4: At 30 months, remove parent handle, switch navigator button and the product becomes an independent trike that your little one can pedal by themselves.

The trike is fun even from an early age. While being safely strapped in it yet provides good vision and a feeling of being 'in the action'!
We've lost a hub cap after just a few outings. Could be we didn't fix it on properly but we're hoping that if we don't find it on a future outing the ELC may supply a replacement.

Great bike and the child did not want to be taken out of it.
Some of the parts cannot be disassembled if incorrectly joined or a washer was missed.

Great alternative to the pram, baby enjoys being in it.
No explanation in the instructions on how to disconnect the pedals to stop them rotating for use at the younger age range

The bright colours my daughter loves it for her first birthday present
Not all the screws were included in box so we had a panic but thankfully we found some screws in the house that we managed to use as didn't have time to take it back as it was the eve of my daughters birthday.

Here's a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Smart Trike Vanilla 4-in-1 Tricycle - Pi

  1. Mischa asked on
Is the parent able to turn the front wheel from behind ?
    1. clare replied on
You dont turn the wheel you just aim where you want to go and the wheel turns in that direction.
  2. Gail asked on
When on parent control is the handlebar locked completely? As I'm struggling to put mine on, the wheel isn't compeltely loose, but if my daughter touches the handlebar then we end up moving in a different direction.. I've tried pressing the red button and turning it the other way, but the wheel just goes looser even still. Any tips?
    1. Michelle replied on
No they should be able to move the handlebars (mine then this she is in control!) but it should have no effect on the wheel. If she has her feet in the wheel pedals and not the feet rests then it will move in another direction. No idea about the loose wheel sorry
  3. Jo asked on
Hi. Do the pedals on the front wheel fold in so that they don't turn until baby is old / big enough to pedal themselves?
    1. Jill replied on
No they don't, as far as I'm aware.
    2. Trudy replied on
Don't think so, there are little foot rests for younger one's to use.
  4. chris asked on
When on parent control pedals are going round should they be stationary
    1. Trudy replied on
don't know my grandaughter has only used it a few times but she puts her feet on the pedals anyway even if she is not actually doing anything it gives her the general idea of what she should do.
  5. A shopper asked on
does the steering handle turn the front wheel?
    1. Jill replied on
      No it doesn't
  6. A shopper asked on
It is normal as front wheel easly come off.i mean when you pick up front of the bike you can easly come off wheel fron clips? Not should sit there little one not use yet and im worry it is safe for her? Please help me if anyone have the same problem
    1. Jill replied on
I agree go to your local store for help.
  7. A shopper asked on
does the steering handle turn the front wheel?
    1. Jill replied on
  8. A shopper asked on
How easy is it to get the trike up and down kerbs , I have read on some you can't bend back on the handle like a pushchair you literally have to pick it up.
    1. Trudy replied on
it is a bit difficult, the handle is high so tipping to go up a kerb is not easy.
