- Although these pens are intended for use by toddlers 18m+, the crush resistant nibs mean that the tip of the pen is angled incorrectly for a small child to make marks, as the pen has to be held in an upright position. In my opinion they encourage a child to hold a pen at the wrong angle. My nearly 2 year old son found it extremely difficult to draw with these pens and so they've been put away in a cupboard until he's older and can understand better why they don't work when held as a child naturally holds a pen. The ink is also meant to be washable, but I found it very hard to scrub the colour off my son's fingers, and he ended up with rainbow coloured hands for several hours after play despite several hand washes and scrubs! The only good thing about these pens is the colours, of which there is a good, vibrant selection.
