I bought this for my 5 year old, craft mad daughter as a stocking filler and was really excited to make it with her as she'd been keen to get a wind chime all summer.

The thread was terrible quality, and impossible to thread through the badly drilled holes. We broke 2 children's needles trying to thread/widen holes. Eventually we gave up, by which point the thread was so unraveled that we were unable to thread it through the chimes.

It's ended up in the bin.

This was given to my daughter as a 4th bitrthday present, and it looked lovely, and attracted both her interest and mine immediately.

As per the comments of other reviewers - It is NOT suitable for this age group, 8+ would be a better rating than the 4+ on the box, and even then it would be tricky to thread, even using the needle provided.

In addition...
It is very poorly made, and in our case unusable as two of the holes had not been drilled all the way through the wood, making it impossible to thread through one of the beads, and one section of the butterfly!

My daughter was given this as a present. As with previous reviews very disappointed that she was unable to thread the wooden parts. Still struggling to get the very weak thread through the flowers. As previously described, also have to assist with tying the knots. Need to provide something in the pack to assist with threading or make the thread more durable.

This windchime had so much potential but what a flop. It was bought for my 4.5 year old daughter for Christmas. It caught her attention so much that it was the first of her Christmas presents that she picked out to do. How frustrating to find that the holes in the flower and heart beads were so small that I had to use a toothpick to push the thread through them. Definately not something a 4.5 year old could or should be doing. And of course I had to make the knots as well as the beads required double / triple knots to stay on. In fact I ended up making the whole windchime for my daughter. Not the point I think! My advice is not to buy unless you as the adult want to make a windchime!

My daughter was bought this as a Christmas present. She is almost 5 years old but very soon became frustrated and disappointed with the product.
Once the cord was cut it began to fray making threading it through the poorly drilled holes extremely difficult. As the cord tried to pass through the holes it caught on the rough edges to the holes, causing it to fray more and become stuck.
When tying knots in the cord it often came undone or the flowers & hearts fell off as we attempted to tie knots.
What looked like a fun, creative activity became a frustratingly difficult task, even for an adult.
