Excellent workstation for our 5 year old .
Makes writing and spelling fun.
Could do with more letters. Numbers only go up to 9. There is only one of each number so limits what sums you can do. Basically just need more letters and numbers.

Great set of letters in a carrying case which can also be used as a writing board.
The id of the case is not as durable as it could be. Will require supervision of a boisterous child.

He magnetic chalk board idea is great and when my childad can get into it he has fun with the letters and chalk.
My four year old finds it very hard to open I even find it tricky to open, I don't think it's worth the money the inside tray is a skimpy plastic thing that's not going to last long.

It is such a shame that ELC have allowed this product to be produced using plastic which is lesser quality to temporary packaging. we paid the full £20 for this item and are disappointed.
The blackboard/magnetic board barely stays put where it should and the idea it can also carry paper underneath is good in principle but as the plastic tray is such poor quality the reality is you spend your time encouraging your child not to touch and lift it.
Sadly this is another example of ELC scrimping on quality and charging a premium.

I bought this for my soon to be six year old because he is enjoying developing his spelling and reading.
He is the fourth of my five children and his older siblings have all owned a version of this toy.
I was therefore confident that this toy would be suitable for my son.

I was very disappointed and so was he.
The desk lid is poorly designed and broke on opening. My son is generally careful with his toys and when I looked closely at the desk I was shocked at its shoddy quality.
As well as the desk lid the chalkboard is flimsy and hard to keep in its place (it is designed to be removable but won't stay put when needed).
The tray that is supposed to hold the magnetic numbers and letters is made of the sort of plastic found in packaging so not fit for purpose. It bent and ripped very quickly.
The desk is meant for a younger child so I would not recommend it. It is supposed to be portable but one drop and it would probably break.

It is a shame that ELC has allowed such a classic, traditional toy to e made so badly and sold in it's stores.

I will be seeking a refund.

N.B. I have tried to upload a photograph but the site keeps timing out.

My daughter has just started school and I was looking for something fun for her to practise her word building. I came across one of these in our dentist waiting room so ordered it for her Christmas. When she opened it today I was very disappointed at the poor quality. I can only assume that it is now being produced much more cheaply than the earlier model I came across as the case is much less sturdy, the handle does not feel strong enough to take the weight of the case and the plastic tray insert is more like a disposable food tray than something you would design to withstand the play of young children. I don't expect it to last very long. I am glad I bought it on sale but I would rather have paid a bit more and had better quality.
