We bought this when it was half price with some of the knights. The knights have been fabulous but the castle a complete let down. It falls apart very easily on moving so unless you want it in one place all the time it wont be much use. The wood is very breakable as the turrets in ours are already splitting and our kids are not that rough. Only used for a month or so and the children havent asked to play with it again. They are however enjoying the knights which are a better buy

I bought this castle for my son for Christmas. I was bitterly disappointed with the product. It is not at all sturdy and in no time a piece of the wood had snapped. It was time consuming to put together and then once each piece is connected the castle is very flimsy and loose. Therefore very frustrating for my son and his sister when they play with it.. They parts come off quiet easily and considering the cost of this toy.. it is not at all value for money. No fun and very frustrating for my son.

My children absolutely love this castle, it is the setting for many battles, from Peppa and George to Star Wars....When it arrived my husband decided to glue it with simple wood glue and stuck it on a base board (an old piece of mdf) the boys (2 and 4) helped him to paint it and now it is used daily. We bought it half price and would say it is one of the best value toys we've bought. If you are happy to glue it together and mount it (took 1 hour max)then it is a fantastic castle.

The idea behind this and the potential for imaginative play is good, however the quality of the fortress is poor. In 5 weeks since Christmas when my son received this as an alternative to the expensive plastic Playmobil castle we have had 2 pieces of the wood snap and the whole castle is very unstable as it slots together.
I'm very disappointed as have found in the past (as mother to 5 children aged 19 - 1) that quality from ELC is usually first rate, this is the 2nd wooden toy from Xmas 2011 that has been of poor quality and/or broken.
