Very versatile with lots to do and explore. Recording voices and music fascinated the kids and encouraged them to create mor.
A little complicated for young children to work out all the modes available. Bought for twin boys who love it but should have bought two.

Bought for my 3 year old for christmas. He likes banging the drums and sitting at it pretending to sing into the microphone. Looks good, seat is a good height for the keyboard. Think my son will fit it for a good few years to come. One additional plus is that my 11 month old also likes to use it to hold onto when learning to stand and walk! and he also seems to enjoy banging the keys etc..
The microphone doesn't seem to work very well, but is easy to swing round, smash into things etc.. It all seems a bit flimsy. While my 3 year old enjoys it - he could take it or leave it! - it doesn't really hold his attention for long, but maybe he will grow into it and use it for longer periods as he gets older - perhaps suited better to slightly older children (or really little ones as something to pull up on!)

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Key-Boom-Board - Red

  1. Lea asked on
Great product But I can't seem to get the microphone working? I press the record button with the picture of the piano and microphone on sing down it and press play and nothing plays back!? It works when you press anything else. Am I doing something wrong or could it be faulty? Thanks
    1. Lina replied on
Sorry we weren't aware that the microphone was supposed to work just thought it was for play role. Maybe we should go to the shop to habit demonstrated
    2. Jane replied on
My microphone works! so yours must be faulty!
  2. Pat asked on
How do you get the microphone to record singing? Or does it do this?

      Hello
      Thank you for your enquiry
The recording function works when you press the recording and microphone ,one recording can record a maximum of 60 notes or 3 minutes.
Press the play button to listen to your recording.
      Kind regards
  3. Abbey asked on
How quickly does this take to build? Have bought it for my son for Christmas and can't decide whether to build it in advance or with him on the day.
    1. Ruth replied on
It only took my husband about 15 mins to build. My little boy has had a field day with it and I have a very sore head.
  4. A shopper asked on
I am looking for a keyboard for my 4.5yr old son. He always jumps on them whenever we go to friends house and just loves them! He loves music and generally anything with a great beat - in his words 'It's got to be funky!' Would this be a good toy for him? He has a 1.5yr old sister who would I am sure enjoy playing with it when he grows out of it. Is there enough different beats and tunes to play? My biggest question would also be does it have a headphones socket, as this would definitely put me off buying it if not! We could go for a smaller carry along keyboard, but I wonder whether they have as much appeal. Presumably you can also use rechargeable batteries if you end up going through them quickly? Many thanks,

      Hello,
      Thank you for your enquiry.
Suitability for an individual is something we are not going to be able to answer directly, however, we can provide the information readily available to assist you in your decision.
The Key-Boom-Board - Red is suitable from 3 years and can be used by two children at the same time.
This requires 4 x AA batteries, rechargeable's are ok and does include a headphone socket.(this can be seen when zooming in on the second image on the website.)
There are 2 animal sounds, 6 demo songs, 6 learning songs, 2 drum sounds and 4 rhythms.
A 'mixer' is also included enabling the user to add exciting beats as well as a tremlo to create funky sounds.
In addition to this, there is also the option to record a voice and the keyboard sound at the same time.

  5. A shopper asked on
I was thinking of buying this fir my 6 year old nephew, do you think he's too old/big for this?
    Thanks x
    1. Susan replied on
No I bought the older model for my other two grandchildren when they were 2&3 and they still play with it They are now 7&8.
  6. A shopper asked on
My daughter has asked for a piano for her 4th birthday, would she be too big for this?
    1. Gloria replied on
My guess would be yes. If she is coming up to four and interested in playing the piano, I would encourage her by buying her one - a reduced size keyboard, perhaps, but a real piano - or at least a keyboard. I bought this for a first birthday. It is a spectacular success, but it's a toy.
  7. A shopper asked on
how does the ipod bit work?
    1. jon replied on
Customer Care Team Early Learning Centre
      Hello,
      Thank you for your enquiry.
Your MP3 player or phone can be connected using the headphone jack cable provided with the product. This will then play the music on your device through the key boom board.
  8. A shopper asked on
Do we HAVE to use batteries? Is there a place where we can plug it in to the mains?
    1. Alison replied on
Customer Care Team Early Learning Centre
      Hi,

      Thank you for your query,

The Key-Boom-Board does not run on mains power, it requires 4 x AA batteries.

      Hope this helps
