product information

The Happyland astronauts are about to embark on an important mission: to explore the far corners of outer space in search of extraterrestrial life! As commander, it's your job to give orders to the astronauts and ensure lift off and landing goes smoothly.

Quick facts:

-Open up different compartments in the rocket
-Lights and sounds
-Great for encouraging early speaking skills
-Inspires the imagination
-Helps develop hand-to-eye coordination skills and motor skills.

Great for your child's development:

Great for imaginative play, your little one will have lots of fun giving the Happyland Lift Off Rocket characters their own voices and personalities while helping them explore and creating stories and adventures. Playing together encourages your child to start talking and trying new words, and moving the chunky, easy to grip pieces around helps strengthen little fingers.

ELC star quality:

We love the Happyland Lift Off Rocket because there are lots of features to inspire your little one's imagination: with three doors to open on the rocket, lights and sounds for blastoff, four figures to play with and a moon buggy to roll around, your child will have hours of fun inventing different stories and adventures. The figures are also chunky, and designed to be easy for little hands to grip, making the set great for boosting hand-to-eye coordination skills.

What you need to know:

-Includes rocket, 2 Happyland astronauts, space dog, moon buggy, alien and crater
-Suitable from 18 months

Playing tips:

Trained to sniff out aliens, the astronauts are taking their dog along for the ride. Take your seat in the cockpit, countdown until lift off and make the rocket zoom high up into space: the astronauts will be comfortable in their living quarters, complete with a bed and kitchen.

When you finally land on a new planet, one astronaut can drive the space buggy and collect samples while the other takes the dog out for a walk- you might even find an alien hiding in a crater!

Great for:

-Discovering the moon, stars and beyond
-Making the rocket soar through space
-Exploring unchartered corners of space and new planets
-Early training for future little astronaut!

Bought this as a birthday present for my son, had discount from the Elc birthday club which made it much better value. Used click and collect and item was available in store very quickly. Bottom rocket door comes off easily, not sure if that is deliberate to make sure small hands don't snap it off by accident

On the first play I was worried that things fell off rather a lot. However after a very short while I realised the cleverness of the design. Too fixed and ridged and little hands will snap the doors off and probably be unrepairable. Once little hands have worked out the play involved in the placing of doors and hatches then the games become endless fun to watch. The detail inside is wonderful and the toilet is a real touch. Well pleased with this toy and my son absolutely loves it. Highly recommend it.

I read the reviews carefully before purchasing this toy and did take note of the comments that the doors came off far too easily. Having bought it for my 1yr old, the doors do indeed come off readily when tugged. Having said that, as my 5 yr old equally loves to play with this Rocket just as much, if not more, than my toddler, I can clearly see that there is no issue whatsoever with the doors coming off. Older children do not yank so hard and the product is brilliant. Younger children do yank on their toys, and the doors come away in a cleverly designed way that means they do not snap or break permanently. They are easy to put back on. This means that the toy grows with the child. All in all- just get it! Its a great, ingenious design that is very underestimated.

Kids are fickle things with diverse tastes, but this has been my 17 month old son’s favourite toy since he got it 2 months ago. It is very well proportioned, very well designed, and very well put together. It comes with two space men of different ethnicities, a space dog, a moon buggy, and a green 3-eyed Alion who lives in an orange crater. I particularly like the way the sound effect button, which is cleverly located in the integral carrying handle, makes a rocket motor sound when it is being carried, but makes a launch sequence sound effect when standing upright. The best thing about this toy is the fact the doors are designed to be removable from their hinges. This prevents junior rocket scientists from permanently damaging the doors when learning their gross motor skills (opening and closing). It is also great for parents who like to participate in their children’s play and development by teaching fine motor skills when re-attaching doors to their hinges.

This went down amazingly with a 2 1/2 year old - all the bits that come with the rocket all are fun too. Recommended (and I don't usually do reviews)
