With lots of shapes and textures to explore, the Discover Cylinder offers hours of fun. Your baby can enjoy handling the soft shapes and feeling the different textures on them, grasping the handles on the cylinder and clacking the plastic rings together. Great for developing hand-to-eye coordination and helping to strengthen fine motor skills, the shapes can be posted through the soft top of the cylinder, and your little one can reach back into it to retrieve them. It's also fun to chase: roll the cylinder around and crawl after it.

The clear window on the bottom so you can see if anything is left inside and that the product is quite big so you can hide other toys in there.
Can't really think of any bad points

This is a lovely toy, my son was bought one when he was 6 months old, so I knew it would be great for my niece. All the different textures and shapes makes for endless exploring and fun. It's made really well, soft and colourful.

I got this for my daughter when she was coming up to one. Now she's four and a half, and my son is two, and they're still playing with it. They use the balls as play food, they hide surprises in there for each other, it's a lucky dip, a drum, a wheel for their car. Because it's non-prescriptive it can be anything they want it to be.

I thought this was expensive when I bought it. Not any more.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my nephew who is 6 mths. I can see th cylinder having multiple uses as he grows older. At the moment, he is entertained by exploring the touch and sounds made by each shape. The cylinder itself is also a useful aid to encourage crawling.

My baby girl is now 10 months old and she has loved this toy since she was 6 months. At first she was puzzled at how to get the things inside out as she could see them through the bottom which is transparent. Soon she learned to reach inside and now she loves pulling everything out and putting it back. We put other things inside like flutter balls to keep her surprised when she reaches inside. It makes a nice change from all the flashing musical toys too. It is also soft which is great as she tends to bash her face on everything she picks up! Highly recommended.

This toy is fantastic for children who aren't yet at the shape sorting stage but like to hide things away and get them out again. This was the first toy my daughter really played with and learnt from. Would recommend to anyone.

This is a great introduction to shapes and textures, and is very durable and washable which is essential in those early days!

My son started playing with this at 5 months once he had got bored of just lying on his mat kicking his legs.
His favourite shape is the flat square, he will scrunch it and turn it around in his hands for ages. He also likes to chew on it, so it usually wringing wet once he's finished!
He hasn't yet got to grips with putting the shapes back into the cylinder but at 6 months old he can take them out. He also like to shake the cylinder itself and chew on the plastic rings.
Now he is sitting up this is a great toy to place between his legs for him to play with.

My son is only four months old but he already enjoys this item. He likes the rustling sound of the shapes and especially likes the flat square-he can handle it and chew on it with ease. The toy does not, however, require batteries as the description describes-unless I have missed something! :-)
