product information

A fantastic game for teaching early numeracy whilst improving concentration and coordination skills.

How to play:

Deep sea tweezer fun
Each player must choose a board, the oldest player goes first. The player picks up a bead with the tweezers and put it into the right slot. The first player to match up all their colours and complete the picture is the winner.

Simple sums
Sort the beads into colours and make up simple sums eg 4+3=7, then ask your child how many objects they can see with the same colour.

After reading the reviews for this game, I was worried that one of the game cards would have 11 holes, rather than 10. But I think ELC has updated this game now and all 4 game cards have 10 holes so it's fair. This game is great for training hand-eye co-ordination, and also hand muscles control. This is also good for learning about colours and numbers, and when playing with family/friends, children can learn to take turns. I would recommend this game to anyone age 2+ (providing the child doesn't eat small objects!)

This game would be great fun, and good for colour matching, recognising numerals 1-4 and fine motor skills using the tweezers as ELC probably hoped for. HOWEVER, one board out of the four has 11 spaces not 10, which means that it can never be filled by the green beads provided (10). This leads to much sadness as a 3 year old keeps wanting to play using the green turtle board and then being disappointed that he can't win. It also meant Mummy spent many many minutes searching for the missing bead so the baby didn't find it first, before finally realising the fault...
Please ELC fix the design, and then re-launch this otherwise great game.

Nice little game that my 3 year old loved playing with - something that got him to sit still and concentrate.

However: There are 4 game boards included and a bag of 40 balls, ten of each colour to match the game boards. There are ten "ball holes" on each game board - apart from the turtle game board. This one has eleven ball holes. A trivial point maybe, but the boards are clearly designed to have ten on each and depending on how you use these boards, it can make the game incomplete. If you were playing with four little ones and seeing who could fill the boards up first with each colour, one child is going to be very disappointed.

In my opinion this needs changing ELC!
