- This is a delightful first 'book' with a soft woolly front, crinkly feel and a squeak in the back. Each cloth page has a picture of a common animal with the appropriate sound printed on the facing page. Not brilliant illustrations, but mainly intended as a means of interaction and 'conversation' with baby. The last page is a mouse and the squeak is great for that page. It also has a clip for use as a dangling cot or pram toy. My grandson (three months) loves it and specially likes to stuff the ears into his mouth - hence the doubts about its durability, as it is not really washable, but it will certainly outlast this stage in his development.
