Great for your child's development:

There's lots of room to play on the Big City wooden rail train table, so not only is it great fun discovering all of the accessories by yourself- it's even more fun with a friend, too. Playing with friends is great for building social and communication skills as you learn about the world, and arranging all of the accessories is perfect for strengthening little fingers and boosting hand-to-eye coordination.

ELC star quality:

We love the Big City wooden train table because not only does it come with a huge amount of accessories, it also features a reversible play mat too- if your little one wants to play with their die-cast cars instead, just switch the board over to reveal a road scene. The built-in storage drawer in the table is also really handy for keeping the accessories safe, helping to ensure nothing gets lost in between play times.

What you need to know:

-Includes 1 x table with reversible mat and over 100 accessories
-Not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts

Playing tips:

Let your trains and wagons explore, leave the engine shed, head towards the bridge and zoom through the station. Decide whether your trains are travelling over the mountain or through it. Pass under the clock tower and ring the bell whilst you're there. If you've changed your mind which way you're travelling use the turn table.

Great for:

-Playing trains whenever you like
-Driving, zooming and crashing
-Little hands to build and enjoy
-Playing with Mum, Dad or a friend: there's lots of room
-Building confidence through pretend play, keep the track off the floor, store toys neatly in the drawer

Easy enough to put together. Seems sturdy. Nice bright colours. Love the drawer to store things, though it's not big enough to put everything into, I think.
It has to be big to be useful, but in a modern flat it's just a bit too big, it has to stand against a wall so cannot be used all around.

Wish the draw was bigger because you can't put all the buildings away when you want to play with the other side.

Bought this for my son who is 18months for his Christmas and we love it. Quite a big table but really sturdy and well made. Track takes abit of time to work out when first building but absolutely brilliant product. Would recommend to anyone
Instructions not great for building the track could do with a bigger clearer image but once you work it out its great

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of train track and accessories that were in the box. Our grandchildren,19 month old identical twin boys, loved it . It is a versatile toy with a lot of play value.
Two of the bolt holes were not fully drilled.

Lots going on and very attractive to look at and colourful. My son loves it. Large number of attractive pieces, interesting layout with bridges and rock tunnels. Traditional wood. Fantastic for imaginative play.
Currently can't think of anything I don't like about it!

This is a very good all round and is of fantastic quality . I bought this for my two year old for christmas and it is so good that after opening this first he and my five year old we're only interested in playing with this and completely ignored the mountain of other presents that they had under the tree for a time. It was put together at around 10pm on Christmas Eve and was so easy to put together and was done within around 30 mins and it comes with very simple instructions on how to put the train track together . If you have a child even remotely interested in playing with a train set or with cars then I really can't recommend this product enough.

Here’s a list of the questions other shoppers have asked owners of the Big City Wooden Rail Train Table

  1. Eva asked on
What size is the table when assembled?
    1. Kev replied on
      It is 1180L x 825w
  2. Sadie asked on
What tools will I need to assemble this table
    1. Barry replied on
You need a Philips screwdriver. The bulk of the screws are tightened using the tool supplied.
  3. kimberley asked on
Does it come with how to put the train track together if so where can I get hold of one as mine was Brought second hand and didn't come with it
    1. Tracy replied on
Yes it does. however you can basically work out where the tracks go from the picture on the table top. I'm sure if you ask ELC they could send you the instructions by email.
  4. Deborah asked on
I've just finished building the track and tried the trains but they do not run smoothly and the train just jumps off the track. I've put it together exactly as per the layout on the table but the pieces just don't seem a good fit. Anyone else had this issue?
    1. Leslie replied on
Hi Deborah. No problems with our trains or the track and this is our second table.
    2. Lucy replied on
Hi, no problem with ours either
  5. sarah asked on
How many trains does it come with and does anyone recommend buying extra track (if so which bits) or is there enough with the pack?
    1. Barry replied on
Two trains are included with four carriages. If you should need any extra trains other manufacturers will fit.
    2. Liz replied on
Track supplied is sufficient but if you wish to be more flexible with layout then an extra pack of straight track and one of curved would be useful.
  6. A shopper asked on
Hi can you change the track around to make a different design or do you have to stick to the pattern in the picture shown?
    1. Trev replied on
Yes you can change the track around. My son has enjoyed doing this the most.
    2. Christine replied on
Sorry haven't opened it yet, the one at play school is always the same
  7. A shopper asked on
anyone else had the wrong bits delivered in the box?
    1. Tracy replied on
No I had everything which was meant to be in the box

    2. Lucy replied on
Everything we were supposed to have was in the box
  8. A shopper asked on
Does the Big City Wooden Rail Train Table come pre-built or is it flat-packed? If flat-packed, could you share the dimensions of the box with me? Thank you!
    1. Fayanne replied on
I no longer have the box but it comes flat pack and very easy to put together. I think I enjoyed putting the trains out a little too much! Hope that helps a little!
